Ann Collins & Cole

"When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain; faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13:11-13

Ann Collins

Cole

Ann Collins wore a beautiful ivory lace wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline accompanied by tulle straps. A sparkly belt gave this dress the perfect detail to tie the decorations, bridal party attire and venue together just as the focal point of a wedding should.

Ann Collins, her mom, sister and bridesmaids started the day early by going to get their hair and make up done at the China Doll. While some were getting their wedding look perfected by Lindsey Chowning, the others visited and rested up for the big event in the Joiner motorhome.

The Joiner Siblings

Throughout the day, Dr. Joiner got misty eyed in the events of his little girl's big day.

The bridal party consisted of 10 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen, which included family and friends. Sharply dressed in black and white, these important people added the finishing elegant touch to this Christmas themed wedding.

Turtle Point Yacht Club is located in Killen, Alabama on the Tennessee River.

The ceremony and reception were held outside of Turtle Point in this massive tent. The building process started early in the week, which turned into the masterpiece that is pictured below.

Each table had a centerpiece designed to have different heights and dimensions giving the tables versatile appearances.

The groom's face said it all when his eyes remained glued to his very soon to be wife as she walked down the isle.

With tears of joy, Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Joiner watched their little girl walk towards her future.

Several scriptures were read and Christmas songs were played and performed reminding everyone the true meaning of Christmas and marriage.

After the ceremony came to a close, the guests gathered in the club house for cocktail hour, cutting of the cake and a delicious dinner while they waited to greet the new Mr. and Mrs. Cole Mockbee.

After the couple shared their first dance as a married couple, they took their time enjoying the mother/son and father/daughter dances.

The band Musical Fantasy was the entertainment for the night and put on quite the show. They performed a wide variety of music that every age group could enjoy. This band was so talented and hoppin' that when it was time for the bride and groom to say their goodbyes, they decided they needed just a little more time on the dance floor.

This reception was full of fun party favors. From glow sticks to light up glasses in the shape of Christmas trees and reindeer, the guests definitely had souvenirs to take home. After a few songs into the reception, a firework show commenced as a surprise for the bride and groom.

The dancing continued until it was time to view Awaken Film's same day edit wedding video. The guests gathered in the club house and loved the footage that we were able to capture that day. Moments like that are why we love our job! The couple then said their goodbyes and left through a winter wonderland created by family and friends throwing fake snow.

Awaken Films would like to thank the Joiner and Mockbee families for such a fun day of filming. We wish you both a lifetime of married bliss and hope you continue to have firework worthy moments throughout the rest of your married life together.

The greatest of these is love,

Emma

Michael & Stephanie

October 17th, 2015

A circle can represent many things. These two specific circles make up some very important pieces of jewelry that represent eternity for Stephanie and Michael. A bond that can never be broken, the beauty of a promise that no man dare separate, these wedding rings represent an infinite time of loving one another.

Stephanie wore a beautiful mermaid style Lilian West wedding gown covered in lace with a sweetheart neckline accompanied by an ivory belt.

Hampton Cove Wedding Plantation

Hampton Cove is a wedding venue in Gurley, Alabama that has three different ceremony options on site. This venue offers a laid back southern style vibe which is accompanied by a wonderfully accommodating staff that makes for a seamlessly perfect and enjoyable wedding day.

The decorations in the reception area consisted of burlap runners along with babies breath and light pink roses.

The couple gave each other their wedding day presents which included notes to each other. Although they didn't read them out loud, we could tell that the words which made up those notes were words they had both dreamed of reading their whole life.

The ceremony was held in a wooded area by a pond making for beautiful scenery.

Flowers provided by Simpson's Florist

Friends and family came from as far as Louisiana to celebrate this special day with the bride and groom.

The DJ played music pleasing to all ages making the reception a true party. Family and friends gathered on the dance floor and celebrated into the night with the train, electric slide and other fun dances.

Jars filled with hot chocolate were given as party favors for their guests to be able to take a bit of the sweetness of the days events home with them.

A s'more bar included with a fire pit added a fun area for the guests to grab a dessert before showing off their best dance moves.

A Hampton Cove Wedding Plantation tradition is for the newly married couples to put a "Love Lock" on their gate symbolizing their new covenant to one another.

These symbols of love represent the true meaning of marriage giving the world a constant outward representation of this couples promise of everlasting love. Two families bringing their son and daughter to become one, making a new circle.

Lauren Tomasella Photography

"It is an absolute joy to do what I love most. Being able to capture life and its many chapters is a true privilege. My interest in photography started at an early age when my family designated me as the family photographer and had me convinced I was the best around!  It stayed with me in high school when I elected to take photography courses, and continued on in college.  My field experiences have led me to where I am today, and I have loved every minute.

When I packed my bags as an Ohio native, almost five years now, and moved to Huntsville, AL for my next chapter, I was so excited for the opportunities that lied ahead.  I have been blessed by so much love and support.  I am most grateful for the welcoming arms of the South.  It has been a whirlwind and I am so overwhelmed with joy.

Turning this passion into a career was when I realized I was not just producing images, I was gifting memories. I provide a photojournalistic approach to lifestyle portraits, weddings and special occasions.  The images I create are lively and colorful. Each session is customized for clients, because of my belief and value in a person’s individuality.  I aspire to create a fun, relaxed atmosphere where the client feels comfortable and personalities will come alive.  My intention is to capture honest moments, which can be held onto and remembered for years to come."

Awaken Films would like to congratulate the Lawson's and thank you for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day.

The greatest of these is love,

Elle & Dustin

Mr. and Mrs. Lawler   10.3.2015

"The very first words of a lifelong love letter."

Elle 0254.jpg

Elle and Dustin were married on October 3rd, 2015, at the downtown Sheffield venue of George's 217.  Music was provided by Rachel Wammack, Brittany Taylor and The Hit Men, including several of the couple's favorite songs. The ceremony was performed by a family friend, Casey McBay, who focused on the couple's undying love for each other.

The bride wore an Allure Couture gown completed with a beaded bodice, sweetheart neckline and columns of organza ruffles to make up the train. The groom and his groomsmen sported a textured pattern design in a deep navy.

The bridesmaids, adorned in sequins, wore Sorella Vita brand dresses accompanied by Pink Pewter head bands to give their up do's the final sparkling touch. All bridal party clothing and accessories were provided by Promenade Bridal and Formal Wear in Tuscumbia.

The reception followed the ceremony where a buffet style dinner was served that included a choice of beef or pork accompanied by green beans, mac n cheese and mashed potato bar along with other delicious sides. Family and friends gathered and socialized in the buffet line while enjoying the musical entertainment.

After the dinner was served, it was time for my personal favorite part of all weddings... The Cake. This ten tiered funfetti cake was decorated with blush rosettes at the base and alencon lace designs appeared on the smaller tiers at the top. Every other layer was completely covered in sparkles, which perfectly represented the personality of the bride. Cake provided by Aunt Bea's Bakery in downtown Tuscumbia.

George's 217 provided the modern atmosphere the couple had always envisioned their wedding to have. Flowers, done by Chase Sparks, gave the venue the final elegant touches. The music played into the night and after the dancing was over, the New Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Lawler left in a Cadillac to a sparkler send off and made their way to Cancun, Mexico.
